My name is Oli, I live in Copenhagen Denmark, and I work primarily as a producer.
I used to drum in bands (and in the studio) in my teens, but haven't had a kit for 23 years. The drums have never been my main instrument, but I have always had a total fascination with drums and drummers.
So after being involved in programming drums all my career, I finally decided to get an e kit. I decided on the DTXtreme III special, but only use it as a trigger for my software (primarily Toontrack s2.0...but have BFD2, AD, Abbey Road etc.)...and only for studio work.
I really love this setup, and totally enjoy playing and trying to get my chops together :p
I guess it is a pretty mundane setup compared to some I can see here, but anyways...here are a couple of pics.
Looking forward to hanging out here!

Hi Oli and welcome to this place.
That is a excellent looking room you have there, great studio! :)
The Xtreme III kit looks great as well.
I know what you mean about taking a long break from drumming, I and many others here used to drum as teens and then life took over, I hadn't drummed in something like 28 years when I bought my first eDrum kit (DTXtreme IIs) four and a half years ago. :)
Make yourself feel right at home here, great forum! :)
Take care

Thanks Jack!
Yeah, that's really funny...there seems to be a pattern there
Maybe I should write a book: "Beat midlife crisis...get an e-kit"
Macho and metero men are passé...now it's the E-Kit Man

Welcome!....
and then there's guys like me who have played bass all their life deciding to pick up drums at 57. Started on acoustic but not enough practice time due to loudness. Bought e-kit and my drumming really took off!

Welcome, and yea! Very nice looking room (and kit).
I want to move in. Bringing my wife and 3 kids is purely optional.

Thanks Charly!
That's the spirit...bass is my main instrument too I guess (then keys and guitar). But somehow drums have always been my first love...guess it just appeals to that primal instinct ;)
Thanks Hellfire and Guinness!
It is very much a "one man" studio, and actually very much relying on digital processing and VSTi's.
A few years back there would have been racks all along the walls, but now it's slimmed down to the very basic analog input devices, eq's and compressors. Everything else is just controllers (except for the guitars/basses of course).
All keyboards, drums, amps and processing is inside the computer...and instantly recallable.
Needless to say, that's really handy when you work on lots of projects...and really nice for my cleaning lady to get rid of all the cables that used to be everywhere
