Hello everybody......I just bought a dtxpress kit from ebay. Have been researching and trying to get everything I need to expand this kit. First I need to know if that module can be expanded...it's the first dtxpress. I purchased a couple of hosa ypp-17 cables but was wondering if they will work on this module. What type of module is the best for expanding? I know I can add another module and link them together but was wondering if there was any other way with just one module. I heard that the roland modules will expand with the use of the hosa cables but don't know which one. Trying to keep cost down and I must say that this is a great place for info on my new hobby. Thanks for your help.)

Hi Xforceguy and welcome to this place.
The DTXpress I module can be expanded by adding only two single zone pads by using your Hosa YPP117 cable and plugging it into input 9/10 at the back of the module, then plugging in 2 single zone pads into the Hosa cable. Then you would have to go into the module's trigger settings and set the appropriate pad type you connect there and save the new settings. The module will set sounds to those pads but they may not be what you want, so you'll have to build user (USR) kits to set the pads to the sounds you want and save them. Preset kits can be modified but any changes made will be lost at power down, best to copy a Preset (factory) kit to a User kit slot and work on it that way, user kits can be saved. :)
Good luck with your new toy.

Take care

PS: if you don't have the manual for the DTXpress I, PM me a email address I can send the PDF version to, I tried uploading it as an attachment to this message as a zip file and upload failed. Grrrrr :(
