Hi all.
I'd like to start by saying the following.
This is a nicely laid out forum, nice and clean and easy to read, nice job to those who planned it and made it a reality. :)
I wish you guys all the best with the upcoming Future Drums 07, sounds like a lot of fun.

Okay, a little about myself.
I'm 48 years of age, I played in a basement rock band as a teen, my last kit was a Pearl wood/fiberglass kit with all Ziljian cymbals. I loved that kit.
Move 28 years into the future after not playing drums, a divorce, a very understanding and wonderful girlfriend and I got back into drumming, since my living arrangements wouldn't allow getting a acoustic kit, I started looking into eDrums.
I decided to get a Yamaha DTXtreme IIs as my first eDrum kit, I loved this kit and what it could do, then the large kit syndrome hit me, I wanted to emulate my first acoustic kit (before my Pearl's), this was a rather large kit built on cheap drums (Stewarts and so on) So I bought a DTXpress III as a add-on to my DTXtreme IIs. Thus "Project DTXtress 5s" was born. After a while, realizing my hands weren't what they used to be, they hurt after playing for a while, I decided to get some mesh head drums to add to my kit, I went with Pintech drums. So now I have my monster kit, if I could only learn to play it well! LOL. ;D
I might not be a good drummer, but I do enjoy playing all the same, I like the eDrums thing but given the chance and living accomodation, I'd gladly give them up for a acoustic kit.
I work for the Railway as a switchman, so the extreme weather conditions may be having a part on my hand condition and having difficulty playing.
I am located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
I built a website around the building of both kits..... "Project DTXtress 5s" and my current "Project WTF".
Here's the URL for this site...... http://members.shaw.ca/catapult.of/
Take care

Another two-module man! I like you already. ;D
There is kind of a Zen to having that many pads starting you in the face. Pads = possibilities.

Hi OverLord.
Thanks.
Well, I like your way of saying it, more pads, more possibilities, I was thinking of it as more insanity myself! LOL ;D
Take care

Welcome Jack, Its great having you here and thank you for the compliments I tried to lay the forum out to have a little something for everyone. I am also open to adding different modules here also. I think someday we will need to write the history of how this board came to be. lol Anyway welcome Sir and enjoy!!! :)

I wrote a response on the other topic and have invited both you and Debbie to moderate certain boards if you agree and Michael sees fit to sharing some of his infinite power. I dont know how much he cares for Yamaha products or wants to care.lol But I am sure he is interested in them as far as modules go and what can be done with them. Talk more soon, Tom ;D

My interest in Yamaha is best described as casual. Unless they release an Xtreme III with sampling and Roland doesn't add sampling. Then I would best be described as an "owner'. :)

If my power is truly infinite, sharing it would make it that much stronger!

Hi Tom.
I think for now, I'd rather just remain a user, maybe in the future if this board gets really busy and you need the help, I may reconsider.
Speaking of modules, it'll be interesting to see if Yamaha releases the new module at NAMM coming this weekend.
I'm anxious to see what this things will have feature wise. HAHAHA, I don't know if I want one though, I already have 4 modules, I can only collect so much dust you know! LOL :)
Another module that sounds interesting but is vapourware until it actually comes out is Pintech's super module, it's not going to be cheap and they must have run into some snags since it was supposed to be released this summer unless it's another NAMM goodie, I had read the specs on this module, quite impressive to say the least, pretty much a new approach and the possible future of all drum modules, it was more of a computer than a module, but comes with BFD lite, so that tells you which way they are going with this thing. It is feature packed, more bells and whistles than what you can shake a stick at. So it's another thing to keep your eyes peeled for, don't look at the name on the product, see what it can do first! :)
Take care

I understand and hopefully we will get that busy but stay a close knit group.

I have a feeling that all the new modules are going to be headed towards more sampling based realism. I do think however that there will be a few companies that will have to be draffed to it kicking and screaming.

I applaud Pintech's vaporware because I truly want to have my module seperate from my pc for a million reasons. If they make the best module than I will buy it.

I am hoping that Yamaha expands the Xtreme line to include alot more memory for sampling. I would like it to be upgradeable also. And it would be nice if Yamaha started to represent themselves better to the people that use them (Being around more) I I know them it will be great but also delivered with no fanfare and not marketed enough. Oh well,

Thanks for the update and consider just running the Yamaha Boards here if you want to try it and are so inclined. Think it over. Tom ;D
