Hey I was just ogling Jack's kit trying to figure out what in the world am I going to do to make this all work together??? lol
I cant figure out how to fit all those darn pads I have into a neat cohesive unit to actually play.
So I keep going between Michaels Mondor and Project WTF and WildWes's kits and ogd's to figure out how I want to do this.
I think Sunday I will tear everything apart and start from scratch and also take pics for my site and take some suggestions from the folks who have experience with Monster ekits.
Oh well my brain is tired tonight. :)

Hi Tom.
Here's a suggestion for building your kit.
Start comfortable.
When I built my DTXtress 5s kit, it was all about looks, well, that kit was a nightmare to play, it was seriously uncomfortable, so when I started anew with my Project WTF, I started off with simplicity and then added stuff.
Sit yourself down and place the kick pad with pedal, snare and hihat exactly where you want to be comfortable playing just those 3 items, then adjust the rack, add your basic high toms, again, playing them and positioning them for comfort, then add your floor toms with the same idea in mind, next, add your ride cymbal, this is another very important component to place for comfort since it is used a lot and if uncomfortable, you'll get tired easy.
The rest is a matter of placing stuff where it's handy to hit, BUT not in the way of the base kit. This will give you a good looking kit but more importantly, a comfortable kit to play, and that's more important than looks
Enjoy the build. :)
Take care

Yup.. snare, kick and hi-hat placing sure is number one priority. Nice suggestion Jack :)

Thanks Kevin.
How have you been?
I hope all is well with you.
Still getting much enjoyment out of the kit I hope.
I'm trying to debate if I'm going to tear down Project WTF in the next week and try something else or just improve on it.
I want to try raising most of the kit, more for trying to play more comfortably. So to do that, I have to tear most of the kit apart since everything on the rack is so close together, I have to jump through large hoops just to raise a tube a couple of inches! LOL :)
Time will tell, if I have time next week, I may tackle the project. "Project WTF2" ? HAHAHA
Take care

Well... I've had better days :(
In Australia there's a thing called 'shape' or 'cap' on our internet plans. I'm sure you guys don't even know what it is... We're so behind when it comes to internet. Simply said we don't have no unlimited monthly limit.. I kid you not! Maximum limit is around 100GB a month, costing average $100+. Speeds vary from 1.5 Mbps to 24Mbps. Uploads max at 1-2Mbps.
So I went on a bit of downloading spree this month, and after I reached my limit, I got 'shaped'. Meaning for the rest of the month I surf at 72kbps AKA the modem speed.
Apparently Our Government only thinks of sports and politics rather than the internet/communication market.
Anyway I could barely open up web pages let alone trying to post something, so I have been absent for few days..
Looking forward for your next project, it's always an inspiration looking at your kit!

Hey Kevin,
We have caps as well and there is nothing we can do about it, even at $150/month there are limits.
We use a program called DU Meter (if you want to know more about this write me at moon_shdw@shaw.ca) This little program saved my life or rather internet LOL It tallies how much upload and download you have done and this is per month. Only thing is that if you are on a network like Jack and I then it will also tally traffic between computers so you have to turn it off or remember roughly how much was between the 2.

I'm currently using NetMeter. Similar to DU Meter's interface but with less goodies(like individual program bandwidth limit) but it's free :) Although I can get a serial to DU Meter somewhere(wink wink), I guess I'm just used to this program. These things sure does seriously save our lives, I mean getting shaped is just too much of an interrogation. Or worse capped without knowing.
Our Government did just spend couple of billions of $$ towards internet. Only thing is they spent that amount of money to fully enlarge the internet capability so that the rest 3% of Australia can have access to ADSL1/2/2+. No offense to those people... but the rest 97% of ozzies are bloody copping rediculous amounts of internet bill! I mean, ever heard of priority?
Anyway it'd be great if there was a way to measure the whole traffic in a network, it'll give us complete control over our usage then.
And why am I always steering the topic away anyway? lol

Hey Kevin,
Yeah I hear you. Most of the Americans and parts of Europe can pay a LITTLE extra and have unlimited. Which would make our lives a little easier....hmmmm or would we just go nuts and download/upload even more shtuff LOL

Salt is really cheap here in the States too. We pay a monthly fee and get as much as we need. It comes in the tap next to the water. You guys don't have that? ::)
