So what's going on with the rest of the set? Are you making multiple toms, kick, snare, and cymbals for him as well? Just curious about stuff matching (or not).

I'm also very curious about the longevity/strength of home-made mesh heads. Are those 2 layers of mesh, or just one? I assume that you have those on your own drums as well...how long have you been playing on them and how well do they hold up?

Just curious.

BTW, is Rifleman a personal friend of yours or did you just meet him on the forums?

I made the two toms. He has a table top pad kit that he is tapping into for the toms and cymbals. Efectivly he is adding 2 toms and two cymbal pads to his existing 'kit'
this is his edrum machine:
He has a Yamaha DD20 Mini Drum Machine like this one: http://cooldiscountinstruments.com/s...duct_info.html

His snare, base and HH are in the form of a Roland RMP-5 Practice/training pad, hi hat is a block of wood covered with a mouse pad with a piezo recessed in it hooked to the Roland practice snare.
See this link for his Roland RMP-5:

see this link and then scroll to post #15 to see pics of his KIT:

... when was the last time you used one of those? I am not talking about the Roland

Single Layer of Phifer SolarTex90 solar screen. Thick and tough - 40x40 grid of nylon coated fiberglass strands. I have them on the mini kit I am building. All heads wear out. we have Hart Magnums at church - the snare is showing wear after 6 months of only twice to 3 times a week playing. Not sure how long these will last. My kit is not complete yet. But I have been using the snare - it shows no wear yet after about 3 weeks.
see this YouTube of my snare:

BTW, is Rifleman a personal friend of yours or did you just meet him on the forums?

Only know of him form the website - read his posting and dicided to start something.

RIfleman_WI will be sending a cd to me with some of his practice sessions with his buds and then another disk with the talent show video.. He has problems loading to the net, so there will be a week or two time delay until I rcv and post.

Many thanks to all that participated in this project whether, in support, prayer, knowledge, time, money, or parts.
