Ok here's the story, (I'll keep it short).

I've been playing drums for 40+ years and about 6 years ago added E-drums to the mix. I started with E-drums because I play in my churches praise team and we wanted better volume control at church. After trying a variety of shields and other things to control volume we decided to go electronic. At church I play a Hart Pro 5.3 with a Roland td-20 brain and my home kit is a homebuilt with a Roland td-6 (but I'm really thinking about going midi with BFD).

I was active on the Edrumming.com site but got busy with life and dropped off for a while. When I came back it was gone. (It was a good site and Chris Jude is a good guy and I'm not sure what happened.) So I started hunting around for another E-drum site. Vdrums is has some good info but I don't want to be on a site with 5,000 of my closeest friends. I've been lurking around here for a while and recognized some familiar names so I thought I'd jump in.

OK that's my story,

R

Welcome RG. Several here used to visit edrumming too and have also wondered what happened to Chris. Sounds like you've been pretty active in drumming and play some nice equipment. Post some photos when you get the chance. WW

Welcome Ron_G....glad you made it here..and hope you enjoy your stay...I also play in a praise band for my church..although I'm currently using my birch custom abs. kit there (behind glass of course)...but yea...e-drums definitely work well in a church environment...prior to me using my BCA kit I was using a td-10exp. w/ vex there...but all the band actually likes the acoustic kit better..:)

Welcome Ron,
Glad you made it !!!! The software sound sets are amazing ... Yes there are some drawbacks compared to a module but also some benefits. There is always going to be some pit falls in pioneering the newest technology but the sound sets are so great I think its worth going for !!!!
Cheers !!!
